Our client, a no-code AI canvas tool, is looking for a Motion Designer who combines traditional motion craft with production experience in generative and agentic workflows. Most of the work is social-first, with the majority on Instagram and followed by X, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts.
You Will:
Take ideas from 0 to 1 and turn them into motion for product launches, campaigns, and ongoing social content
Build a tiered output model with three levels: full launch films, a faster middle tier shipping several times a week, and screen-recording-level work. You’ll decide which tier each moment needs
Bring AI tools and agentic workflows into production, including programmatic video, agent-driven editing, computer use for screen capture, and custom skills trained on the brand’s reference library
Use prompt and context engineering to get specific, repeatable, on-brand output from generative models
Track new model and tool releases and bring the useful ones into team workflows
Help shape the motion system, including timing, easing, type in motion, how UI and generated output appear on screen, and sound
Design and spec product motion as needed, such as onboarding, empty and loading states, agent and chat interactions, and transitions
Work closely with the Founder/CEO, Creative, and Product
You Have:
Motion design experience across brand film, product marketing, and social video. Creative taste and craft matter more than years of experience
A social media mindset and a feel for content that works on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts
Strong animation fundamentals: timing, spacing, easing, composition, and typography
Hands-on experience with traditional, 3D, programmatic, and generative AI tools
Sound design, editing, color, and grading skills
Ongoing AI skill development, including context engineering, agent orchestration, and building custom skills or workflows
A track record of learning new creative tools in depth, quickly
The ability to work independently from a brief, prioritize across concurrent projects, and hit deadlines without letting quality slip
Nice to have: experience designing for creative tools, developer products, or other technically sophisticated software
Logistics:
Contract - 3 months to start with the option to extend or convert to full-time
On-site 5 days per week in Williamsburg, NYC
40 hours/week
Pay - $75-$100/hr
