As a Senior Experience Designer at Barbarian, you are a skilled design professional who helps manage high-profile clients and contributes to the delivery of world-class digital experiences. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to shape beautiful, effective, and user-centered design solutions that bring bold ideas to life.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience designing products and experiences for well-known brands, a strategic mindset, and a passion for craft and innovation. As part of the design team at Barbarian, you’ll help set the creative bar, collaborate cross-functionally, and push the work to new heights.
Core Responsibilities
Design and collaboration:
Lead end-to-end product design for key projects — from discovery through delivery — ensuring the work aligns with client goals and brand standards.
Translate business and user needs into intuitive, visually compelling, and impactful design solutions.
Lead the creation of relevant artifacts (e.g. site maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs) for product-driven projects, delivering new features and continuous improvements.
Designs with high visual craft creating clear, intuitive and visually impactful outputs
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other designers to bring ideas to life and maintain a seamless user experience.
Ability to flag concerns or barriers to managers and other departments when needed
Brings hands-on experience in Agile environments with the ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities.
Client and team partnership:
Work directly with clients to understand their business objectives and present thoughtful design recommendations.
Leads and has ownership/accountability of work.
Ability to confidently and clearly present in both internal and client facing presentation
Participate in workshops, presentations, and feedback sessions to build trust and confidence with partners.
Support and contribute to Barbarian’s growing design culture by sharing inspiration, feedback, and new ideas.
Innovation and craft:
Stay current with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies to ensure Barbarian’s work remains at the forefront of digital design.
Contribute to the evolution of design systems and best practices that help maintain consistency and scalability across projects.
Push creative boundaries while maintaining a strong focus on usability and problem-solving.
Qualifications and Experience
5–8 years of experience in Product or UX Design, with experience in digital product development and visual design.
A strong portfolio showcasing work across web and native app platforms, demonstrating excellence in interaction and visual craft.
Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and contributing to strategic conversations.
Ability to define design problems, prototype solutions, and iterate based on feedback and data.
Excellent presentation and verbal, written, and visual communication skills — you can clearly and concisely explain design decisions, successfully advocate for the user, and justify business rationale.
A proactive, curious mindset, eager to learn and guide others while contributing to an inclusive design culture.
Passion for designing products that combine innovation, clarity, and beauty.
Highly skilled in design and prototyping tools (e.g.Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch — pending client needs).
Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.

Salary range: $150K
The starting salary will match the skills and experience in the role assessed during the interview process.
