Position Overview:
ReelShort is seeking an experienced content sales executive to build our licensing business across North America and Latin America. Based in Los Angeles and reporting to the General Manager, this role takes our owned library into the studios, streamers, and regional buyers, and builds the deal infrastructure that makes it repeatable. This is a relationship-led role: we are hiring for a network at the senior executive level and for the ability to walk a catalogue into a room and close on it.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and run the outbound licensing pipeline for owned content into US studios, streamers, and ad-supported platforms
Close format rights, remake rights, and finished-tape deals end to end, from first conversation through signed long-form agreement
Develop distribution across Latin America, North America, and emerging platform partners, including co-production and revenue-share structures
Set pricing and windowing strategy for the catalogue by territory and by rights type
Build the deal infrastructure: rate card, deal templates, an avails and rights-tracking system, and a quarterly pipeline review
Represent the company at the markets that matter for these territories — AFM, NATPE, MIPCOM — with meetings booked in advance
Requirements
8+ years in content sales, distribution, or licensing at a studio, distributor, or major streamer, with a documented track record of closed deals and the revenue attached to them
An active network of decision-makers at the SVP and EVP level across the major studios and streamers
Deal fluency: you can structure format versus finished-tape versus remake rights, negotiate minimum guarantees and back-end, and read a long-form distribution agreement without waiting on counsel for the basics
Comfort selling a non-traditional format — vertical short drama is unfamiliar to most buyers, and you can build the category case rather than only pitch a title
Direct experience selling into Latin America and North America, including familiarity with the regional broadcaster and streamer landscape
Spanish or Portuguese capability a strong plus
Prior work with unscripted, sports, or brand-adjacent IP a plus
Existing agency and management relationships a plus
Willing to operate as an individual contributor in year one, with the ability to build a team as the business grows
Diligent, resourceful, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
