THE ROLE

Eight Sleep is looking for a hands-on senior video editor with exceptional taste, strong storytelling instincts, and the initiative to turn existing footage into compelling social content and paid media.

You’ll work with a substantial library of creator content, product footage, and campaign material, finding the strongest stories and bringing your own editorial perspective to every cut. You know how to earn attention in the first few seconds, build a compelling narrative, and make every frame count.

Reporting directly to the Executive Creative Director, you’ll work closely with our Brand, Growth, and Social teams and collaborate with our motion designers. This is an opportunity to help shape how Eight Sleep shows up on social, combining a high standard of craft with a clear understanding of what makes content perform.

 

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

- Turn creator footage, product stories, and campaign material into compelling social content and paid media.

- Bring a contemporary approach to storytelling through strong hooks, intentional pacing, sound design, and unexpected visual choices.

- Proactively explore our footage library, identify promising story angles, and propose edits.

- Create effective paid media edits, including 30- and 60-second spots, with a clear hook, product story, and call to action.

- Develop variations in hooks, narrative structure, length, and format for creative testing.

- Bring an informed perspective on Instagram and TikTok trends, formats, and audience behavior, translating relevant ideas into work that feels distinctive to Eight Sleep.

- Partner with the Growth and Social teams to understand performance and apply those insights to future edits.

- Collaborate with motion designers to integrate animation, typography, and graphics into your work.

- Own edits through feedback, revisions, color grading, basic sound mixing, and final delivery, maintaining speed and a high standard of craft.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

- 6+ years of professional video editing experience, with editing as your strongest discipline.

- A standout portfolio demonstrating original thinking, contemporary visual taste, and exceptional execution, particularly in social content and paid media.

- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to find a compelling story within a large volume of footage.

- An understanding of how storytelling, pacing, sound, and platform conventions influence attention and engagement.

- Proficiency in color grading and basic sound mixing.

- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to analyze transcripts, surface story angles, and accelerate editorial development, with your own taste and judgment guiding the final work.

- Clear communication, strong ownership, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving creative team.

BONUS POINTS FOR

- Videography and content capture experience.

- Motion design skills. You’ll collaborate closely with our motion designers to elevate the work.
