A Day In The Life as a Manager, Product Design:

Leads fashion design and product development for Hasbro’s licensed Partner Brands, owning execution from early creative direction through final development.

The role spans multiple product development categories, including role play, youth electronics, special feature plush, fashion dolls, and collectibles.

Translate partner brand strategy, trend direction, seasonal concepts, character/consumer insights, and licensor feedback into development-ready fashion, softgoods, deco, accessory, feature, and model direction while balancing creative ambition with cost, manufacturability, quality, and schedule.

Oversee development responsibilities across the full product lifecycle, including line planning support, concept direction, color/material/finish direction, fabric/print development, trims, construction, fit review, deco callouts, feature integration, presentation input, sample review, licensor-ready assets, and final model approval.

Help define product development and innovation strategy for licensed partner brands, identifying scalable formats, features, materials, and category opportunities that strengthen consumer value and partner brand growth.

Partner closely with Design, Marketing, Engineering, Costing, Sourcing, Quality, Model Shop, vendors, factories, sculpting, electronics, plush, and softgoods teams to deliver products that meet brand standards and consumer expectations.

Lead weekly creative meetings with LA-based licensed partners to review design intent, feedback, approvals, open issues, and next-step decisions. Clear documentation, timely follow-up, and strong cross-time-zone communication are essential to keep development moving and reduce unnecessary iteration and approval delays.

This position works with highly sensitive licensed intellectual property and must protect confidential assets, product concepts, licensor materials, and partner information at every stage.

What You Will Bring:

Design leader experience with strong fashion, toy, doll, collectible, or character product development experience and a proven ability to lead licensed products through complex development cycles

Sharp aesthetic judgment, strong understanding of consumer product milestones, and deep knowledge of softgoods, fit, fabrication, color, print, trims, deco, plastics, accessories, tooling, and manufacturing constraints.

The candidate must be able to manage multiple licensed partner brands, lead internal and external teams, and make smart tradeoffs across design intent, cost, schedule, quality, and licensor requirements.

Strong experience in on-site model review, sample critique, vendor direction, and factory communication is essential, along with the ability to translate creative feedback into clear, actionable development direction.

Strong communication and leadership skills are required to partner effectively with LA-based licensed partners, global design and brand teams, Hong Kong and Asia development partners, vendors, and factories.
