Title and Summary

Director, Innovation Experience Design - Foundry

Mastercard is seeking a highly creative, visually minded, and experienced Director, Innovation Experience Design to lead the development of Foundry’s creative vision across customer experiences and innovation showcases. You will shape how Mastercard's innovation strategy comes to life through immersive experiences, executive engagements, interactive demonstrations, and customer showcases for senior customers, partners, and industry audiences.

The Director, Innovation Experience Design will collaborate with business leaders, designers, agencies, and cross-functional partners to translate complex innovation themes into compelling visual narratives, data visualizations, interactive experiences, immersive showcases, keynote materials, and customer-facing environments.

You will shape Foundry's experience design roadmap across executive briefings, customer showcases, Experience Centers, interactive demonstrations, immersive installations, strategic events, and visual storytelling experiences.

The ideal candidate combines a strong visual eye, excellent creative judgment, and has experience leading designers, agencies, and production partners with strategic thinking, executive presence, and a strong understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends. They are equally comfortable shaping creative direction, guiding visual and interactive experiences, and driving cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Writing and thought leadership are also important supporting skills.

Role
• Lead Foundry's global visual storytelling and experience strategy, serving as the primary creative lead for customer experiences, executive engagements, Experience Centers, innovation showcases, and strategic presentations.
• Own the creative vision and experience design for executive briefings, customer showcases, innovation demonstrations, and Experience Center engagements, ensuring every interaction delivers a compelling and memorable innovation experience.
• Shape compelling creative concepts, visual narratives, and experience frameworks focused on innovation, emerging technologies, payments, AI, agentic commerce, banking, retail, and the future of commerce.
• Direct the development of high-quality creative assets and experiences across multiple formats, including executive presentations, keynote visuals, data visualizations, interactive demos, immersive installations and customer journey storytelling.
• Serve as a strategic creative advisor to Foundry leadership on visual storytelling, customer experience design, creative direction, messaging, and high-impact engagement opportunities.
• Collaborate with peers across Foundry to develop and scale creative experience initiatives, including Signals, customer showcases, startup engagement, executive briefings, and other strategic programs that require strong visual and experiential execution.
• Partner with product, strategy, innovation, design, and production teams to translate complex technologies and solutions into clear, customer-centric visual experiences and business value propositions.
• Drive the creative execution and continuous evolution of Mastercard Experience Centers, innovation showcases, executive briefings, customer meetings, industry events, and conferences.
• Direct agency relationships, designers, experience strategists, production partners, and external creative teams responsible for delivering immersive experiences, interactive demonstrations, prototypes, and customer-facing showcases.
• Lead multiple creative and experiential initiatives simultaneously, managing timelines, stakeholders, agencies, production partners, and deliverables.

All About You
• Strong visual eye, excellent creative judgment, and the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives and customer experiences.
• Experience leading creative, experiential, innovation, design, or executive engagement programs within a global brand, innovation lab, experience center, agency, consultancy, or technology organization.
• Experience shaping visualizations, interactive experiences, immersive showcases, executive presentations, event environments, customer journey storytelling, and conference materials for senior audiences.
• Understanding of emerging technologies, innovation trends, AI, payments, financial services, retail, commerce, and digital transformation.
• Experience designing or leading executive briefing programs, innovation showcases, Experience Centers, experiential marketing initiatives, customer demonstration environments, or similar engagement platforms.
• Demonstrable experience of directing designers, agencies, and production partners to deliver executive-quality creative work for C-suite customers and senior leaders.
• Ability to balance strategic creative leadership with practical execution, including briefing, directing, reviewing, and improving creative work across formats.
• Experience working in highly matrixed organizations and influencing stakeholders across functions and geographies.
• Writing, editing, and thought leadership skills are valuable supporting capabilities, particularly where they strengthen the clarity of visual narratives, executive presentations, and customer-facing experiences.
• Experience working in or closely with a creative agency is a plus.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. New York City, New York: $172,000 - $283,000 USD

Purchase, New York: $164,000 - $271,000 USD
