About the role:
We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use and easier to understand.
Responsibilities
- Document Creation: Create and maintain documentation for our products, including user guides, product manuals, API documentation, knowledge base articles, release notes, and other relevant technical materials.
- Product Understanding: Collaborate with product managers, software developers, sales engineers, and customer success managers to gain a deep understanding of the SaaS product's functionality, features, and user workflows.
- API Documentation: Create comprehensive and accurate API documentation forto assist developers and integrators in using Nightfall’s developer platform APIs effectively. Document API endpoints, parameters, request/response examples, authentication methods, and other relevant details.
- Usability Testing: Collaborate with UX/UI designers and conduct usability testing of documentation to ensure it is clear, actionable, and easily understood by users. Gather feedback from users and iterate on the documentation based on their input.
- Compliance and Security: Understand and adhere to security and compliance standards relevant to our product. Ensure that the documentation reflects the necessary security practices and guidelines.
- Deep knowledge of documentation standards such as DITA, content management processes, creating and maintaining style guides is a must.
- Content Management Systems: Utilize content management systems (CMS) or other tools to create, manage, and publish documentation. Familiarity with tools like Notion, GitBooks or other industry-standard CMS platforms is beneficial.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in technical writing for enterprise software products.
- Experience managing customer-facing documentation portals/platforms
- Experience developing product help documentation, creating developer implementation and integration guides
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable
- Experience maintaining content repository, optimizing content development to maximize reuse and minimize maintenance/duplication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred

Compensation
Employee compensation will be determined based on interview performance, level of experience, specialization of skills, and market rate. During the offer discussion, your recruiter will review the finalized base salary, bonus (for applicable roles), benefits & perks, and stock options as they’ll be reflected in the offer letter.
