We zoeken een Product/UX Designer voor ons AI-team bij Nextens. Iemand die nieuwsgierig is naar klanten, graag complexe problemen ontrafelt en enthousiast wordt van de mogelijkheden die AI biedt, zowel in de producten die we bouwen als in de manier waarop we zelf werken.
 
Dit is geen pure UI-designrol.
 
Je werkt van begin tot eind mee aan nieuwe producten en ervaringen: van het ontdekken en begrijpen van een klantprobleem tot research, conceptontwikkeling, rapid prototyping, testen met klanten en het verder ontwikkelen van de beste ideeën tot echte producten.

Je ontwerpt AI-producten
Je helpt ons opnieuw na te denken over hoe fiscalisten, accountants en financiële professionals werken als AI een steeds grotere rol krijgt in hun dagelijkse werk. Daarbij gaat het niet om simpelweg AI toevoegen aan bestaande software. We willen ontdekken welke nieuwe ervaringen en manieren van werken mogelijk worden dankzij AI.
 
Je werkt zelf AI-native
 We zoeken iemand voor wie AI niet alleen iets is om voor te ontwerpen, maar ook een vanzelfsprekend onderdeel is van het eigen werk.
Je gebruikt AI om onderzoek te doen, ideeën te verkennen en snel prototypes te bouwen en te testen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan Figma, Figma Make, Claude, Lovable of andere AI-tools. Welke tools je precies gebruikt vinden we minder belangrijk. We zoeken vooral iemand die nieuwsgierig is, experimenteert en AI gebruikt om sneller van idee naar iets tastbaars te komen.
 
Je blijft dicht bij de klant
Goed design begint voor ons bij het begrijpen van de klant. Je praat met klanten, duikt in hun dagelijkse werk en probeert te begrijpen waar ze tegenaan lopen en wat ze echt nodig hebben.
 Research is daarom geen losse fase of iets wat iemand anders voor je doet. Het is een essentieel onderdeel van hoe je ontwerpt. Je brengt ideeën vroeg naar klanten, leert van hun reacties en gebruikt die inzichten om het product steeds beter te maken.
 
Wat ga je doen?
End-to-end ervaringen ontwerpen voor AI-producten binnen fiscaliteit, accountancy en finance.
Customer discovery en UX-research doen om problemen, behoeften en workflows echt te begrijpen.
Complexe professionele processen vertalen naar eenvoudige en begrijpelijke ervaringen.
Snel ideeën omzetten in prototypes en experimenten, onder andere met AI-tools.
Concepten vroeg met klanten testen en op basis daarvan itereren.
Klantonderzoek, kwalitatieve inzichten en productdata combineren om betere ontwerpkeuzes te maken.
Intensief samenwerken met Product Managers, engineers, contentspecialisten en fiscale experts.
Ontwerpen hoe professionals op een begrijpelijke en effectieve manier met AI samenwerken.
Werken aan onboarding, interactiepatronen en UX copy voor complexe functionaliteit.
Workshops faciliteren, ontwerpkeuzes presenteren en klantinzichten delen met het team.
Blijven experimenteren met nieuwe mogelijkheden terwijl AI-technologie zich verder ontwikkelt.
Wie zoeken we?
We zoeken een sterke Product/UX Designer, niet alleen een UI-designer.
Iemand die:
 sterke product-, UX- en interaction-designvaardigheden heeft;
customer discovery en research als een belangrijk onderdeel van het eigen werk ziet;
energie krijgt van een vaag idee omzetten in een prototype dat je kunt testen;
AI nu al gebruikt in het eigen werk en graag experimenteert met nieuwe tools en workflows;
enthousiast is over het ontwerpen van producten waarin AI een fundamenteel onderdeel van de ervaring is;
ingewikkelde materie begrijpelijk en bruikbaar kan maken;
zich thuis voelt bij complexe B2B-software voor professionele gebruikers;
liever een idee met klanten test dan er weken intern over discussieert;
ontwerpkeuzes helder kan uitleggen en onderbouwen;
graag direct samenwerkt met Product, Engineering en inhoudelijke experts;

Je hoeft geen fiscalist te zijn. Veel belangrijker is dat je nieuwsgierig bent naar een complex domein, goede vragen stelt en wilt begrijpen hoe onze klanten echt werken.
 
Waarom Nextens?
 
AI verandert professionele software razendsnel. Tegelijkertijd zijn veel van de interessantste vragen nog helemaal niet beantwoord.
Wat moet een AI-assistent voor een fiscalist eigenlijk kunnen? Hoe wil een accountant ermee samenwerken? Wanneer vertrouw je AI en wanneer wil je zelf de controle houden? En hoe gaan we van AI die vooral informatie geeft naar AI die professionals daadwerkelijk helpt om hun werk gedaan te krijgen?
 Dat zijn niet alleen technische vragen. Het zijn juist ook product- en designvragen.
We zoeken iemand die samen met ons die antwoorden wil ontdekken.
Je komt terecht in een team dat werkt aan AI-producten voor fiscaliteit, accountancy en finance. Je krijgt daarmee de kans om niet alleen mee te bepalen hoe onze producten eruitzien en werken, maar ook hoe professionals in de toekomst met AI gaan werken.

Help shape the future of AI software for tax, accounting and finance.
We’re looking for a Product/UX Designer to join our AI team at Nextens. Someone who is fascinated by customers, comfortable with complex professional software and excited about what becomes possible when AI changes both the products we build and the way we build them.
This is not a pure UI design role.
You’ll work end-to-end, from understanding a customer problem to researching it, exploring ideas, rapidly building prototypes, testing them with customers and helping turn the strongest ideas into real products.
What makes this role different
You’ll design AI products. You’ll help us rethink how tax professionals, accountants and financial professionals work when AI becomes part of their everyday workflow. That means designing experiences around AI, not simply adding AI features to existing screens.
You’ll be AI-native in how you work. We want someone who actively uses AI to research, explore, create and prototype. You might move from an idea to an interactive prototype using tools such as Figma, Figma Make, Claude, Lovable or similar tools. The exact tools will change. What matters is that you experiment with them and use them to learn faster.
You’ll stay close to the customer. Customer research is at the heart of good design. You’ll talk to customers, understand their workflows and pain points, test ideas early and use what you learn to make better product decisions. Research isn't a phase that gets handed over to somebody else. It's part of how you design.
What you’ll do
Design end-to-end experiences for AI-powered products in tax, accounting and finance.
Conduct customer discovery and UX research to understand real problems, workflows and needs.
Translate complex professional workflows into simple, intuitive experiences.
Rapidly prototype and experiment with new concepts, including using AI-assisted and AI-powered tools.
Put prototypes in front of customers early and iterate based on what you learn.
Combine customer research, qualitative insights and product data to make design decisions.
Work closely with Product Managers, engineers, content experts and domain specialists.
Design interactions where users need to understand, trust and effectively work with AI.
Create clear onboarding, interaction patterns and UX copy for complex functionality.
Facilitate workshops, communicate your design thinking and help the wider team learn from customers.
Keep exploring new possibilities as AI technology and customer expectations evolve.
What we’re looking for
You’re a strong Product/UX Designer , not just a UI designer.
You:
Have strong product, UX and interaction design fundamentals.
See customer discovery and research as a core part of your job.
Love turning rough ideas into testable prototypes.
Already use AI in your own work and continuously experiment with new AI tools and workflows.
Are genuinely interested in designing products where AI is a fundamental part of the experience.
Can take something complicated and make it feel understandable and useful.
Are comfortable designing B2B software for professional users.
Prefer testing an idea with customers over debating it endlessly internally.
Can clearly explain the thinking and evidence behind your design decisions.
Enjoy working directly with Product, Engineering and subject-matter experts.
Are curious, pragmatic and comfortable working in a field that is changing quickly.
You do not need to be a tax expert. We care much more about whether you are curious enough to dive into a complex domain, ask good questions and learn how our customers actually work.

Primary Location Base Pay Range: NLD Amsterdam (Radarweg) €49,000 - €81,700.
