What does the team work on?

The team encompasses Content Acquisition (responsible for deal strategy and negotiation to acquire Movies, TV Series, FAST Channels, and more), Content Partnerships (responsible for managing Roku’s hundreds of content partners), Content Strategy & Planning (responsible for guiding content investments and windowing tactics to maximize engagement and ROI).
What is the role?
We’re seeking a Content Specialist Associate to help shape and execute on Roku’s content scheduling, planning and strategy for VOD, FAST and Sponsorship Products, across our subscription and ad-supported services.
You will serve as the primary point of contact between content and our Ad Sales and Sponsorship teams. You will be the content expert—you will understand the slate, the calendar, and the performance of our titles and translate that knowledge into highly desirable sales and sponsor packages. You will also become fluent in our sponsorship products and proactively identify opportunities available. You will keep the teams grounded in what is possible while expanding what that looks like within the company. You will keep and maintain content trackers and calendars as well as represent the content team in planning meetings, respond to RFP’s, feed into pitch materials as well as related duties as they arise. You will produce recurring readouts on the outcome of our sponsor packages and create a virtuous cycle of letting the data improve our strategy. This is not a sales role but rather a role for a content person fluent enough in the ad-sales world to speak with authority to both sides of the table.
While the sales and sponsorship liaison work is the core of this role, you will also have the opportunity to participate in broader team initiatives as needed. International expansion planning, engagement optimization planning and other cross-functional projects where content strategy needs a seat at the table. This may mean assessing the monetization shifts, contributing input into launch strategies or supporting ad hoc strategic work outside of the sales cadence. We’re looking for someone who can flex between the steady state liaison rhythm and the more variable work that comes with a growing content strategy team.
The work we do can be challenging, but that's why we enjoy it so much. The ideal candidate isn't a bystander. They are curious and engaged, willing to jump in to solve problems and make data-driven decisions even when things feel very ambiguous. Our industry changes quickly, so we expect a great candidate to be comfortable responding swiftly to changing business needs, knowing that their own success comes when the team succeeds.
For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $74,900 - $99,900 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What should I know about Roku's culture?
Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.
We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
