Brand Visual Designer
ABOUT US
At Sierra, we’re creating a platform to help businesses build better, more human customer experiences with AI. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices in Atlanta, New York, London, Paris, Madrid, Munich, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and Family. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Establish Sierra's brand presence in EMEA — serving as the region's first dedicated brand designer and laying the groundwork for how Sierra shows up across markets in EMEA and beyond.
- Localise global campaigns and content for EMEA markets, ensuring cultural relevance, linguistic accuracy, and regional nuance across all brand touchpoints. Work closely with the localisation team to translate presentation and campaign content when needed.
- Design and produce presentations that support the Go-To-Market team, translating complex ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives for both internal alignment and external audiences.
- Support regional marketing events — from concept through execution — including event collateral, signage, environmental design, and other physical brand touch points across EMEA.
- Partner closely with regional Marketing leads to understand local market needs and translate them into on-brand, high-impact design solutions.
- Operate as a core member of the US brand design team, collaborating across time zones to maintain a unified creative vision while advocating for regional relevance and market-specific needs.
- Build and maintain the brand systems that power everything we ship — templates, guidelines, libraries, and tools that help teams move fast and stay on-brand.
- Collaborate closely and clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of partners including external partners, multidisciplinary creatives, and internal partners across marketing, engineering, and product.
- Deliver and solicit feedback to continually elevate the Sierra brand and raise the quality and craftsmanship of our output, maintaining brand guidelines and strong attention to detail.
- Note: We're seeking candidates with deep knowledge and significant experience in these areas, coupled with a willingness to learn and expand expertise in others.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Proven Experience: 8+ years of experience driving brand development and creative design for global B2B, B2C, SaaS, and AI-driven products. Portfolio demonstrating the ability to implement a combination of strategic, conceptual, and design skills — crafting original, persuasive, and visually compelling work, including for EMEA and multicultural audiences.
- Regional Expertise: Demonstrated experience localising campaigns and content for EMEA markets, with a strong understanding of cultural nuances, regional trends, and how global brands translate locally
- Pioneer Mentality: Comfort with ambiguity and a genuine enthusiasm for building from scratch. You're energised by the opportunity to be the first, not intimidated by it — and you know how to create structure, process, and creative quality without a playbook.
- Presentation Design Chops: Proven ability to design polished, story-driven presentations for GTM and executive audiences, with strong proficiency in Google Slides and Keynote.
- Strong Execution Skills: Demonstrate high craftsmanship in building brands and design solutions. Bring creative thinking to varied communication and marketing efforts. Detail-oriented from concept through execution.
- Great Collaboration: Strong ability to craft a clear narrative and paint a vision that communicates and aligns teams — including teammates who are many time zones away. Skilled at working closely with cross-functional and globally distributed partners to translate complex challenges into impactful design solutions.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate problems, design concepts, and decisions to various stakeholders across regions and time zones.
- Builder Mindset: Self-starter and strategic thinker. Align design decisions with business goals, ensuring every visual element supports growth and clearly communicates the company's mission.
- Creative Proficiency: Well-versed in using a broad spectrum of design tools — from Keynote and Google Slides for presentation design to the full Adobe Suite and Figma for design, video, photography, illustration, typography, data visualisation, and motion graphics.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to adapt quickly and perform well in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, handle multiple tasks, and work effectively across time zones and with limited resources.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.
