Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America’s boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country’s biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.

As a Deputy Editor, you will help lead Development Communications for our grassroots brands, including Americans for Prosperity, The LIBRE Initiative, Concerned Veterans for America, and related efforts.
This role will oversee Development Communications, including the editorial calendar, workflows, review cycles, deadlines, approvals, and handoffs. The Deputy Editor will directly manage writers focused on Development Communications, ensuring work is strategically planned, clearly assigned, well edited, and delivered with accuracy, consistency, and quality.
This team’s portfolio includes donor-facing emails, proposals, pitch decks, direct mail packages, polling memos, stewardship updates, and related materials. The Deputy Editor will help ensure these products translate policy, strategy, campaign context, and impact into compelling content for donor audiences.
The ideal candidate is a strong editor, people manager, and editorial operator who can balance strategy with execution. This person will collaborate across Marketing, Fundraising Strategy, policy, legal/compliance, creative, and grassroots partner teams to move complex projects from intake to final review. Over time, this role should grow into greater ownership of final editorial review and approval readiness.
This role requires electoral campaign experience, strong editorial judgment, direct people-management experience, comfort with complex workflows, familiarity with AI tools, and the ability to shape high-quality donor-facing content. The Deputy Editor should also be willing to write, revise, and develop high-priority content directly when needed.
