Join the WTOL 11 Big Board Friday sports team and help bring Northwest Ohio's biggest high school football stories to viewers every Friday night. We're looking for a seasonal freelance photographer/editor who enjoys sports, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can capture the excitement of Friday night football. This role is responsible for shooting highlights at assigned high school football games and editing compelling content for use on WTOL 11's Big Board Friday coverage.
Responsibilities:
Travel to assigned high school football games every Friday evening.
Capture high-quality video of game action, interviews, and atmosphere.
Edit highlights and packages for broadcast under tight deadlines.
Coordinate with producers, sports anchors, and newsroom staff throughout the evening.
Safely operate station camera equipment and vehicle (if applicable).
Meet all deadlines while maintaining WTOL 11's high production standards.
Requirements:
Experience with professional video cameras and non-linear editing systems preferred.
Ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong storytelling and visual composition skills.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift and carry camera equipment.
Must be available every Friday evening throughout the high school football season (approximately 16 weeks).
Knowledge of football and sports production is a plus but not required.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
This is an excellent opportunity for college students, aspiring sports photographers, freelance videographers, or anyone looking to gain experience covering live sports for the #1 news station committed to local sports in Northwest Ohio.
Pay Range
$20 — $21 USD
